The Director of Information Technology will have the ability to understand Edgewood's programs, Mission, and service delivery and mange IT initiatives to support those areas. The Director provides leadership regarding in the role technology should play at Edgewood. For IT staff, the Director needs to be able to direct the work of software developers, support specialists, and other computer-related workers to implement the vision. The Director of IT will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. The Director needs to have demonstrated experience in understanding business needs and interprets how IT can benefit the group. Communication skills are an important part of this position. The Director needs to be able to be able to communicate complex IT initiatives to users and stakeholders with no technical expertise in an open and supportive manner.

minimum requirements

• A Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years IT experience with at least 5 years relevant IT Management experience.
• Strong IT project management experience.
• Strong understanding of software engineering practices including business requirements gathering, documentation, application development, support and managing a custom enterprise application.
• Experience working with non-profit organizations is preferred.
