Turning Point

Edgewood Turning Point offers an alternative to residential placement. This state-of-the-art wraparound program helps youth ages 16-25 who are struggling with severe mental health challenges. Edgewood professionals provide the highest level of care and support available, allowing young adults to remain in the community and empowering them to thrive more independently. At the same time, like all Edgewood programs, Turning Point keeps families at the heart of its work, making sure parents and relatives have a vital and active voice in choosing services and setting goals.

the care team

The path to success in the community begins with a Care Team matched to meet each young person's unique needs. The team starts with a Clinician and Case Manager. Then Peer Partners and Behavioral Coaches are also made available, depending on the wants and needs of the young person and their family. The Care Team works together to wrap the youth and their family with services that: establish systems of support in the community, manage mental illness, and teach safe and positive behaviors that  are essential for success in all aspects of life. And when youth need to talk to someone who understand, the Edgewood Drop-In Center's doors are open.

Clinicians: Clinicians provide treatment plan development, mental health services and therapy.

Case Managers: Case Managers assist in finding resources within the community. They also aid youth in their finances and budgeting; SSI applications and management; education; rehabilitation; legal matters; finding vocational services; and housing.

Behavioral Coaches: Behavioral Coaches assist youth in developing interpersonal skills that will improve the quality of their relationships at school, at work, in the home and community.

Peer Partners: Peer Partners are mentors who assist youth in developing Independent Living Skills (ILS).

Parent Partners: Parent Partners provide support and serve as advocates for youths' primary caretakers. Parent Partners also facilitate a  support group.
