Believe in San Francisco Children: Solving the Residential Funding Crisis 
On May 5, the Government Audit & Oversight Committee of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors held a hearing on the "Status and Future Plans for Agency Coordination for San Francisco Children and Youth Needing Residential Treatment Placed through Probation, Behavioral Health, and Child Welfare." The hearing was co-sponsored by Supervisors Sophie Maxwell and Carmen Chu.

Mental Health Services Act (Proposition 63) 
Here's an opportunity for Edgewood clients, staff and supporters to comment on how this important mental health program funding legislation is being implemented. Edgewood especially encourages its clients to make their voice and choice heard in the future design and implemetation of the program. The Community Behavioral Health Services unit of the Department of Public Health is inviting all stakeholders to review and comment on San Francisco County's Request for Prudent Reserve for a period of 30 days from April 15, 2008 to May 14, 2008. This 30 day stakeholder review and comment is in fulfillment of the provisions of the Welfare and Institutions Code (W&I) Section 5848. more...
