Levi Strauss & Company - Helping Children for More than a Century

It’s not often that an organization is fortunate enough to partner with one of San Francisco’s truly historic companies for over 160 years, but that’s exactly the case for Edgewood and Levi Strauss & Co.

Back in 1854, Mr. Levi Strauss donated $100 to Edgewood. More than a century later, Levi’s continues to be an active corporate partner with Edgewood and giving back to Bay Area youth in need.

This year marks the 165th anniversary of Edgewood’s founding and the 50th anniversary of the Edgewood Fair. To mark this historic year and partnership, Edgewood will honor Levi Strauss & Co. with a Legacy Partner Award at this year’s 50th Fair on April 28th and 29th.

Levi Strauss & Co. is our Legacy Partner for many reasons, and not just because of that $100 donation back in 1854.

Each year, Levi’s employees return to Edgewood’s San Francisco campus for a day of service known as Community Day, during which volunteers set up Levi’s pop-up shops to distribute Levi’s apparel (all donated by the company) to Edgewood youth. Community Day is levi's worldwide event with thousands of Levi's volunteers taking on projects in dozens of countries around the globe including i nthe U.S.

During Community Day at Edgewood, Levi’s volunteers have beautified the campus, joined recreational games with Edgewood youth, and the company has supported Edgewood programming such as the Garden Learning Center with annual grants.

Thank you, Levi’s, for this strong partnership and congratulations for being Edgewood’s Legacy Partner!

You can help Edgewood children and their families with a one time gift, or, set up a recurring gift to provide ongoing help all year round!
